About the cherry-throated tanager:
Scientific name: Nemosia rourei
Classification: passerine bird
Species from Brazilian fauna: yes.
The cherry-throated tanager, so known due to the characteristic red patch near its throat and upper center of the chest, contrasting with the white of the rest of the chest and belly, is a very rare bird found only in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest biome.
With highly degraded habitat, its estimated population is extremely low and it has been classified as a critically endangered species.
